Return to Work: Manager Checklist

Return to Work: Manager Checklist

Often managers don’t appreciate that they are one of the most important factors determining whether a parent successfully returns to work after extended parental leave.

It’s important to ensure the practical elements of access are taken care of as soon as possible if not already. By now role responsibilities should be clear, but it’s key to check in with your returner about how they are adjusting to the transition, so they feel supported.

Conduct a development discussion early on so they have clear objectives to work towards and ensure you continue to explore their career aspirations.
