The rise of the dual-earner household in which working parents take on full or part-time roles is so widespread today that families where only one parent works are now the exception and not the rule. According to the Office for National Statistics, around 3/4 of parents in dual-parent families are both in work. That means a significant proportion of the current workforce are balancing the demands of their job with the realities of raising a family
Organisations that prioritise supporting their working parents by offering meaningful support will not only make their working parent population feel valued, better understood and provide an environment more conducive to being able to thrive, but consequently may find retention and productivity improves.
