Shalini Sequeira

Executive Coach

Shalini is an executive coach with 15 years’ experience helping leaders and managers build confidence, impact, and inclusion. Drawing on her City background in Law and Learning & Development, she specialises in empowering women and diverse talent to thrive in senior roles across global organisations.

Country: United Kingdom

Sector experience: Legal, not-for-profit

Background

Shalini has 15 years’ experience of coaching leaders, aspiring leaders and managers, both one to one and within group coaching programmes. She brings a strong City leadership background, from careers in Law and Learning & Development; and adds to that her experience of leading in the not for profit world, as a non-executive director and trustee. Shalini practised law in the City at Norton Rose and Shearman & Sterling, and subsequently went on to work as an in-house lawyer. She chose to move into Learning & Development at Addleshaw Goddard and experienced working on the business side of law, rising to become Acting Head of Learning & Development before starting her own business. Shalini is particularly inspired by supporting women, and high potential non-white men and women, to reach and retain leadership positions.

Shalini is a mother of two children, has lived in Hong Kong and Singapore and her career has seen her working all over the world. The variety she has experienced in her own life and career has taught her much and enriched her coaching.

Coaching Style

Shalini’s clients describe her as having a calm presence, enabling them to leave their fast-paced world outside and move into a different space where high quality thinking can happen. Shalini believes that every coachee has their own answers within themselves – and that her role is to partner with them, offering space, support and constructive challenge – so they connect with their own wisdom. She focusses on how clients will use what they have learned through coaching to reach their work and life goals, and what they are learning about themselves. Shalini’s knowledge of working in client facing roles as a lawyer and as a consultant, as well as working in business roles, gives her a rich understanding of the wider systems that her clients operate in and underpins her work as an executive coach.

Intuitive / Curious / Pragmatic; clients say she supports them to unpack complex issues and provide the right level of challenge to push their thinking further.

My coaching with Shalini was extremely powerful. She is really good at asking questions. She was able to help me go beyond the apparent need/task and help me uncover the deeper values and feelings that were at the heart of the issues I wanted to work on.
