Kat Hutchings

Kat Hutchings

Executive Coach

Kat works with Executives, Partners and senior leadership teams at high-stakes moments of change. Drawing on a background in banking, leadership development and executive coaching, she supports leaders navigating transitions where expectations are high, the environment is shifting and the quality of leadership has a direct impact on organisational performance. Her experience in financial services and other highly demanding sectors means she understands the pace, scrutiny and decision-making pressures that define leadership in high-accountability environments.

Country: United Kingdom

Sector experience: Technology and FMCG.

Background & Experience

Before becoming an executive coach in 2017, Kat spent 12 years at Royal Bank Scotland, NatWest and Coutts across front-office, customer experience and Risk roles. She later went on to lead an internal Coaching and Consulting team, giving her direct experience of how leadership development programmes are designed, delivered and embedded within large organisations. This combination of commercial and leadership development experience means she quickly understands organisational context, including strategy, stakeholder dynamics and the pressures leaders face during periods of change.

Who Kat Works With

A significant part of Kat’s work focuses on organisations going through transformation, whether that involves restructuring, acquisitions, cultural change, strategic shifts or broader business transformation programmes. She works with senior leaders stepping into larger roles, managing increased complexity or leading teams through uncertainty and change. Alongside one-to-one executive coaching, Kat works with leadership teams through team coaching, management board offsites and strategy days. She is particularly effective at helping teams align around priorities, navigate difficult conversations and build stronger collective effectiveness during periods of significant change.

Coaching Style

Kat’s coaching style is commercially grounded, perceptive and positively challenging. Clients value her ability to create a trusted space for honest reflection while maintaining a clear focus on practical outcomes. Drawing on her training in neuroscience, resilience and behavioural change, she helps leaders strengthen judgement, manage pressure effectively and adapt their leadership approach as organisational demands evolve.

Clients

Kat works primarily across financial services, legal, consulting, media and retail. Some of her previous clients include NatWest, Coutts, LGT UK Wealth Management, Raymond James, Standard Chartered, Brightwell Pensions, Simmons & Simmons, and Bird & Bird.

Qualifications & Credentials

Kat is accredited as a Professional Executive Coach with the Association for Coaching (AC) and holds the AoEC Diploma in Executive Coaching. She is a Master NLP Practitioner and is trained in Team Coaching through TLIM. Her additional studies include neuroscience, mindfulness and resilience, which inform her approach to leadership, behavioural change and performance under pressure.

She is also accredited in CCR3 and i2 Skills and works with interview-based 360 feedback processes to support leadership insight and development.
