Background

Clients describe Sian as an intuitive coach, who provides support and makes them think. Sian likes to support clients during their professional lives to help them to connect with who they are and how this can be embodied in work. She often describes her work as “holding up the mirror” for her clients, which she does with integrity and respect. Sian is passionate about learning and believes that regular and honest self-reflection is the key to this. This is the cornerstone of her own on-going personal and professional self-development.

In addition to being an associate of the ECC Sian runs her own business providing Coaching and Leadership and Management Development. Prior to this she spent 10 years in Financial Services (Nationwide Building Society) in a number of Senior Management roles in HR and Line Management. The previous 10 years were spent in Retail, with 8 years at Marks and Spencer as an HR Manager and 2 years at Somerfield as a Regional Head of HR.

In her previous roles Sian has had extensive experience of working with individuals at all levels to improve their performance.

Coaching Style

Sian’s coaching approach integrates many different methodologies. Most importantly, her approach and style is determined by the needs of the client, which is always focused on their goals, but is flexible as new information arises and self-awareness increases. Over a number of years Sian has developed her own Mindfulness practice allowing her to work in the moment with clients. Sian supports the client in their own journey of self-reflection to embed their learning. Clients describe her as an intuitive coach who provides support and challenge to understand how they think and feel. Sian describes her work as “holding up a mirror” for her clients which she does with integrity and compassion.

Special Interests

Over a number of years Sian has developed an interest in and practice in Mindfulness meditation. She is part of a charity called The Mindful Life who support individuals and organisations that wish to bring Mindfulness into their lives.

Sian was an excellent support and valuable mentor to me as I returned to work after more than a decade outside of the workforce. I have never sought help for my career before, and was just bowled over by the difference it makes to feel supported. Sian forced me to look at the long-term goals and shift from survival to planned attack. Without that shift I would not have been able to set, and achieve goals.
