Executive Coach

Jo is a former barrister and law firm partner turned executive coach, combining deep corporate insight with a passion for developing authentic, balanced leaders.

Country: United Kingdom

Sector experience: Law and financial services.

Background

Jo enjoyed a 24-year career as a lawyer, initially as a barrister and then as a solicitor. Jo was an Equity Partner in a global city law firm, and has hands-on experience of the corporate world, and the culture of large organisations. She particularly enjoyed developing people through her coaching-style of leadership and mentoring, and qualified as an Executive Coach as she is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with others.  As a working parent, Jo has first-hand experience of the challenges working parents face.

Coaching Style

Jo’s experience of corporate leadership, and the culture and politics of large organisations informs her empathetic style in which she creates a safe space for clients to develop themselves through coaching.  Jo’s insight, warmth and humour shines through in her coaching. Jo practises a solutions-focused, positive psychology approach. With a healthy element of challenge, Jo helps clients find fresh perspectives to realise their potential, to find solutions which lead to professional growth as well as personal fulfilment.

Clients describe me as empathetic and contemplative; someone they can trust to challenge them in a kind way that allows them to develop self-awareness, self-reflection and to gain confidence to take positive action.

Both from my personal experience of ECC's approach, and from seeing the impact on our company I can particularly recommend their pragmatic approach and their insight into our collective and individual needs.
Executive Senior Leader
The six sessions I had with my ECC Coach changed my perspective of coaching. I was initially uncertain (and possibly sceptical) about the benefits of coaching but my coach read me very well and knew when to coax a response out from me by being encouraging and when to firmly push me to see the benefits of reframing some of my previously held positions.
