International Men’s Day – Men Leading by Example
Today is International Men’s Day and here at ECC we can’t wait to show off the important men in our lives. If this year has taught us anything, it’s that physical and mental health problems affect us all and that a united front goes an incredibly long way in making the world a better place for everyone. The theme this year is ‘Men Leading by Example’, so here’s some of the men in our lives who have done us proud this year telling us their positives of lockdown, in the hope that we can spread a bit of joy and inspiration in a very difficult time.
We are committed in our work at ECC in creating more inclusive and sustainable workplaces that help people to be the best version of themselves both at work and at home. A significant part of this is the call to action towards organisations asking them to encourage their male employees to take advantage of their portion of Shared Parental Leave and by doing so, be a part of crushing the stigma that surrounds taking it. When you consider the impact that Coronavirus has had on families during lockdown whilst trying to juggle work demands, we need organisations to recognise and help support the needs of families whilst employees are working from home. This includes supporting their male employees, especially those who are fathers. We want to crush existing stigmas this year and allow men to be able to take time to be with their families without judgement or work consequence.
