Walking in Marianne’s Footsteps

If you are a frequent reader of Coaching Comment then you will be familiar with the various events that we have held in aid of the Microloan Foundation. This year, we invite you to join us for a fun filled family day in Richmond Park to honour Marianne.

What: 10km walk for the whole family

When: Sunday 18th June 2017, 10:00

Where: Richmond Park, Sheen Gate

Price: £25 adults, children under 15 go free

Walking in Marianne's footstepsPictured right is Marianne. Marianne lives in a rural village in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world. She’s a widow with 7 dependent children, and before her first loan from MicroLoan she would have to walk 10km every day to the nearest town to sell firewood to feed her family.

However today, with a loan and business skills training from the MicroLoan Foundation Marianne runs a tea shop in the village. Her children are well fed and healthy and they can all go to school. Marianne’s story is the same for so many women that we work with at MicroLoan.

We are asking our supporters to join us in Richmond Park on Sunday the 18th of June 2017 to walk in Marianne’s footsteps, to honour her journey and raise money to help so many more women like her.

Walking in Marianne’s Footsteps will be taking place in the beautiful Richmond Park this year, so why not bring the whole family to show your support and fundraise for MicroLoan Foundation. There will be quizzes and snacks for everyone to enjoy. You will receive a chitenge (African batik wrap) on the day to wear in support of MicroLoan.
